Getting customers to stay should be just as important as getting them to sign a 2 year commitment. I was with dish for 3 year and I never had to pay 397 to upgrade service or equipment. I think that price is just robbery. I signed on to direct tv 3 months ago. I was satified with the channel line up and with the reception. But I called and wanted to upgrade a DVR in another room or get whole house DVR. But because I didn't get it initially I was told that I would have to pay 397 to upgrade. When I switched services I had the intentions of staying. But I think I might as well pay the 420 to get out of it instead of being robbed everytime I want to upgrade or enjoy my service.
