Seven missed technician appointments over four weeks of cable outage

I have been a subscriber with Comcast for several years. It has been a horrible customer service experience. The most recent chapter in the Comcast "customer NO service" here in North Atlanta, is that since 8/23/08 we have had an outage of our cable channels, and we only get the first 20 stations, instead of the paid for 80 plus stations. For over 4 weeks now, we have had 7 appointments for technicians to come out and check our problem and each time have had a no-show. My wife, who is a teacher, even left her work early one day to be here for the service call, rushed home, and as usual, it was a "no show." We actually have employee ID numbers for each time we call to explain about the "no shows" and each time we call, are given a run-around by the telephone representative. I learned recently that my next door neighbor had a similar experience and has dropped them for satellite TV. This is what we plan to do as well, as we cannot get anywhere over the phone with them. We have written several letters to their CEO's based in the Philadelphia area, and am hoping to get some sort of a response. However, we know that even if that happens, we are stuck with a monopoly service here in the north Atlanta area that does not care about its customer service clientele, but only cares about collecting their payments. We most likely will be dropping them as soon as we can arrange to get the Direct TV people out here to hook us up. If anybody has any ideas of how to motivate Comcast to provide service, or a contact person, please let us know.
