Beware, beware, beware. I booked a hotel in templebar dublin with otel.com on friday 23-9 2011. For the following evening the24th. Everything seemed fine and everything was confirmed. That is until 5.45pm on the 24th we were just about to check into hotel when i recevied a call from hotel receptionist informing us that the agent had transferred us to another hotel. Also told that said agent had been trying to contact me all day without sucess. But of course that was not true. The onlyl call was from the hotel receptionist. Imagine our disapointment at that time on frinday evening in the city centre. All our party were booked into the hotel we booked. We were sitting in car part for two hours trying to get them to book us a hotel in templebar. Never got to have dinner with our party as we did not want to destroy their evening as well.in the end agent said take the hotel of their choosing or leave it. The whole night was about being in the same placf as our friends. Everything was ruined for us. I could have booked any hotel at time of booking. Agent told us he could not get us a hotel in templebar on frinday night. Why of why did they not tell us and contact us all day frinday when we would have had time to book someplace else ourselvels. I like to choose where i want to stay not where someone else wants to put me. Horrible horrible experience. We eventually had to go to hotel of their choosing which was totally unsuitable for our requirements. It was that or travel 120 miles home at9pm on said night. Having booked sun holidays cruises ect ect. For many years on lime never have we experencied such shoddy and cold calculcating treatment in all our times bookking on line. Unhappy disgruntled completely broken down from whole experience with otel.com. Never never never never. Again. Still very angry joe.
