Failed in sending confirmation and notice of airline schedule change

At the end of May I bought a round trip ticket from Billings Montana to Santo Domingo Dominican Republic using Hotwire. 2 weeks before the flight I went online with 1 of the airlines to pick my seats. To make it short I found out that there has been a schedule change which made the entire first trip impossible, since I would have missed the connection in Tampa Airport. The initial airline customer service person change my entire itinerary for me at no extra cost. She also told me that in a fishbowl notification of the schedule change was sent to hotwire on July first and hot wire technology the receipt of the notification. After high had the itinerary changed I called hotwire customer service. I was told that they had no knowledge of any schedule change with this particular connection. I repeated the schedule change and told them that they needed to find other customers who might miss their connection in Tampa. They did not do this. They in fact send me the old, failed itinerary 2 days before my flight and a reminder I think on the day of the flight. The impossible flight. So they apparently cannot have anything corrected either an airline or a customer.
