I am presently an Adventure club member. While vacationing in March at one of their facilities (Ellington at Wachesaw Plantation East) I attended an upgrade sales pitch. To my surprise while attending the sales pitch I was told that if I upgrade to the higher level a benefit I would

Receive as part of the package is the ability to cancel my member ship anytime with no cost If I wanted to but, If I didnt upgrade I would lose this option. Now this upset me quite a bit since

I had already been informed by the sales rep when I became an Adventure club member that I could leave the member ship at any time by sending a letter stating I wanted to cancel my member ship and there would be no cost. At this point I refused to sign any paperwork agreeing to this portion - giving up my right to cancel at no cost. After this meeting I immediately returned to

Our room and called customer service. I explained what I had attended and what I had been told when I purchased my club membership. I was informed by a rep at customer service that yes I could get out of the club for $1600 and the letter requesting this. (I cant recall the

Name of the actual letter). I asked for the rep to transfer me to a supervisor and was told they were busy and he took my info and would have them call me back. I never received a call and have called several times requesting the same info. I just called recently again and low and behold this time I was told the cost was $1800 and some odd dollars & I would have to send the letter. I again asked for elevation of my issue. To no avail I still have not been contacted.

I am very upset due to when I purchased my Adventure club membership there were THREE things and only 3 things that persuaded me to change to the Adventure club. First was there was no longer a deeded property, Second that if I wanted out of the Adventure club I could get out at any time with NO FEES by sending in a letter requesting cancelation, and third that the Maintenance fees were quoted at less than my time share (quoted 665.10 and was told it might go up $40-50 a year). Your representative came to my home on 3 August and pitched his sales pitch to myself and my partner.

We initially had NO intention on upgrading until he mentioned the three things l listed previous stated in this paragraph. He even went as far as calling a customer service rep on his cell phone for me to talk to and confirm the above stated items were accurate. I was assured they were accurate. I had asked if I chose to upgrade and cancel immediately could I do so right then. He said yes, but convinced us not do so yet and gives the program a chance since we could cancel at no cost any time. That was part of the fee dollars we paid.

To my regret that day I said ok and chose to give the program a try and not canceling. I wish I had canceled it the same day so I wouldnt be having this stress / headaches and I wouldnt be sending this

Letter. To my dismay the first year I received my Maintenance bill it was for a larger amount than I was told and when I called about it I was basically told it had gone up the $50 a year and the price I was told and is on my paperwork was a year or so old. But, I had to pay the updatedmaintenance amountI am already up to what I was paying for my previous time share so I was not happy. It would not have been an issue if it was the amount I had been quoted or I had been given the opportunity to get out then. I did ask if wanted out I could get out and was told yes with the request letter.

I am now writing this letter asking that the company be held accountable and honor what your Company representative told my partner and me when we agreed to upgrading to the adventure club member ship. That we can get out of the member ship anytime at no cost. We are very dissatisfied at this point and just would like to end our membership as quoted at no cost.
