We went on a company outing to the Bedrock Resort over the 4th of July and we got completely ripped off!
Let me first start with actual accomodations: The water, all of the water (drinking water, bath water, etc) smells and tastes of sulfur. One half of the "lodge" was consistently about 10 degrees hotter that the other half of the lodge and one of the rooms had no ventilation or air conditioning what so ever. We tried turning the ceiling fans higher, but they became extremely noisy and would shake violently when put on a high setting. Swimming and lake access requires you to walk down an extremely steep hill covered with loose rocks to a marina which has several signs posted that there is no swimming allowed around the marina.
Despite the accodmodations being less than desirable our group was managing to enjoy ourselves. Our reservation was for 2 days and the owner of our company shelled out $900 for those two days. Apparently the people at Bedrock Resort use a different kind of math because they made us leave at 10 pm on July 4, just 27 hours after we had arrived. They refused to let us spend the second night, which had already been paid for and told our owner that she would owe another $450 if we spent the night. Mind you they did not have another group coming in until July 7! And it did not matter that all of us had to work the next day and told them we would be out by 8am.
Our owner is now out $900 for 27 hours of lodging, we had bought food and drinks to BBQ that night for the 4th, as well as a bunch of fireworks.instead of enjoying a relaxing evening of BBQ and fireworks, we got to watch other people setting off fireworks on our drive back to San Antonio as we were forced to leave with less than an hour's notice.
So, unless you're into lackluster accomodations and having your money stolen, I would avoid Bedrock Resort at all costs!
