We booked a $250/night suite some weeks before, had confirmation number, gave credit card for late arrival.
Desk manager and then owner refused to honour our reservation saying we gave you room away to a group that came in. Couldn't be bothered to call us at our cell # they had had for weeks.
Refused to give alternative room, nor help with or pay for alternate lodging - at night in an unknown city, traveling with a child.
Owner could care less that he had no honesty, and that we would report him. No one should trust this business, and every traveller to bakersfield should be aware of their dishonesty. Reservation honesty is fundamental to a hotel/resort.
Rio bravo should cover our alternative lodging costs found at great aggravation and discomfort
