Ripoff Fill out their "Win-A-Free-Trip" ballot form will lead you to so much hassle

Approximately one week ago, I received a phone call from Ann, representing Ramada Plaza Resort, informed me that I've been chosen out of some several hundred of candidates for an offer to a trip to Florida Bahamas cruise, as well as 2 additional trips to Las Vegas and Mexico. Basically it is the same offer that most of us were told from RPR.

My call display indicated that she was calling from a number with a Toronto area code. She was basically reading to me a script about how fabulous this dream vacation package, yet not mentioning a word about any additional fees or timeshare presentation involved until she asked me for my credit card number. The $698US is only a small fee to secure this one-time offer, which is good for up to four people.

When I asked about the airfare from Toronto to Orlando, she advised that it is not included. However, they can offer me a special airfare deal from Air Canada, which is roughly $49 (not sure in US or Canadian Currency), just be sure I mention about this offer to their representative after I receive their package from the mail. (Is it true?)

Anyway, I have made a mistake by giving her my credit card number and agreed to pay $698US for 4 people to this too-good-to-be-true offer. She then told me this is not a winning prize, so no lottery tax is required to be paid, which to me sounds suspicious.

Shortly after this phone conversation, it turned out that everyone I know who went to The Beer Festival and filled out that Win-a-trip-to-Fort Lauderdale ballot form got the exact same phone call. Felt being scammed, I called RPR for a refund that same evening, apparently I was rejected and told this is a non-refundable offer. However, they gave me a credit for $575US on my credit card just because they allowed me to pay the remainder in a longer term. The next day after I found this website, I immediately called the RPR again to speak with a supervisor and requested for a Full Refund. I was finally promised the full amount to be refunded in 7 to 10 days.

I just received my full refund today. Only there is another extra $43 charged on my credit card for the US to Canadian dollar conversion, as promised, the bank will credit this amount back in my next statement. I am truly glad for having visited this website soon enough, since I have no expectations there will be more additional charges to be applied later on, as well as attending those mandatory timeshare presentations which was never even mentioned.

Isn't it funny, as I was told by RPR, they have been in business for 30 years. I wouldn't be surprised that many had taken legal action against them over the years. Surely it is disappointing to know they still manage to operate and set their target nationwide even overseas. I will contact the authority that set up the booths at various large events in Toronto promoting Win A Free Trip to Fort Lauderdale/Orlando Florida. Even if the form itself weren't worded the exact way, the message one conceives would suggest this is probably a nothing-to-lose ballot for winning a trip to Florida Bahamas Cruise.
