I was extremely happy about the resort and it's amenities up until the day we were scheduled for our timeshare presentation. I went into our sales pitch with an open mind and the willingness to purchase if the opportunity arose. Never again! Our presentation was at 7:45 am, be there 15 minutes early, be prepared to wait till 8:00am for your sales rep to arrive. They then take you in a golf cart to what seems like the other side of the resort. I really liked our sales guy. Although he needed to listen rather than talk and seemed more bias towards my husband... He was nice and it was nice chatting with him. Funny thing is, he kept telling us the "secrets" of timeshare owning... Hmmm... After doing my research, what he told us was public knowledge. Anyways, we told him we had been at the resort for 3 days now, checked out everything, had a 2 bedroom condo and really what he was telling us, we already knew. Once again, if he was listening instead of listening to himself talk, he would have heard us say numerous times that we have been on the resort 3 days now. After 2 hours of going through his pitch we finally set down to talk about price. Mind you this was only supposed to be 90 minutes long. His first price $40,000 - can you afford that? No! Well what can you afford monthly? $200 a month. That put us in right around $14,000. WOW! Big jump from 40 to 14. Not to mention, everyone, no matter of credit, is set at a fixed interest rate of 16.9%. You have to finance on your own if you want a cheaper rate. Anyways, he came back at us with some ridiculous number and 4 visits from the manager and three no's from us, he finally came back with something we thought we'd think about. Since they don't want to let you go and tell you ALL the incentives you will lose if you leave without buying today, I went ahead and bought a biennial package with the understanding that we would purchase now and take the 10 days we had to cancel, to do our research. Waiting to sign deed was another hour wasted waiting for someone to assist us.By that time it was a little after noon, almost 5 hours later. After everything was said and our deed was signed, it was 2pm in the afternoon. This was our last night at the resort and we asked if since we purchased and since our time was 4 1/2/5 hours longer than required, if the resort would be kind enough to comp us an additional night's stay. Nope! Once we signed that contract, they pretty much kicked us out the door. Heck, we had to find our own ride back to our car! Needless to say, my husband and I did our research and decided that it wasn't the right move to commit to for the next 10 years. Now the cancellation process - I called, sales comes in at 8. It wasn't till 9:00am that someone took the answering machine message off and began answering calls. I told them I wanted to cancel, that I had my lawyer involved, my sister and to call me back. I received a call from a rep - he came in w/a lower cost. I was appalled I said no I want to cancel. Received call back from answering machine, the only nice and true person I spoke to the whole time she advised that I send out my term letter. I sent 2, notarized letters prepared by my lawyer. Received a call from the woman who did our deed, 3 days after I initially called and 1 day left till my 10 days ran out. She began lecturing me after I told her No, that we changed our minds. Pretty much treating me like a child. At one point she was telling me I was being aggressive. Yes!!! You are calling me and arguing with me at my business!!! 4 more no's and I told her to refund my money and that I will never deal with them again. Needless to say, she told me that Holiday Inn Club Vacations prides themselves in their customer support. Well, no one cared that they ruined my vacation by their 6 hour sale pitch, carelessness to accommodate me and my family after wasting our day and then calling me to harass and argue. Overall, I loved the resort!!!
