In July of Vacation Property Services (VPS) contacted us. We sopke to Carmen and James. They told us that they could help us rent our timeshares. James told us that we could rent our timeshare for 2,200.00 because of its location. Our timeshare is located within 3 miles of Disney. He told us that they would advertise our timeshare and that we would receive inquiries or offers to rent our timeshare. We told James that the timeshare that we currently had in 2003 expired in August. He said that we could call RCI and have the timeshare extended to November for 50.00. On July 11th we gave VPS 399.00 to list our 2003 and 2004 timeshares. We also gave RCI 50.00 to extend our 2003 timeshare. James set the rental amount for 2.200.00. We honestly believe that James knew it would not rent for 2,200.00 but to get us "onboard", he quoted this rate.
By November we did not receive any inquiries or offers for our timeshares. We tired to contact James several times to check on the status of out timeshares. We left several messages for him to return our call. When we finally got in touch with him, he told us that we should have called him to lower the rental amount. We told him that he never told us to do that. We also told James that how could we lower our rental amount if we can't get in touch with him? He did not have much to say. We lowered the rental amount to 1,800.00.By the end of the month, we lost our 2003 timeshare.
By January we still have yet to receive any inquiries or offers for our timeshare. We again tried to contact James several times. When we finally got in touch with him, we reminded him that we lost our 2003 timeshare. He did not have much to say.
On January 20, we filed a complaint with the BBB of West Florida. On January 22nd, Frank Perry (General Manager) contacted us and offered us a refund of 200.00. We accepted his offer. He said that we could contact him personally if we had any questions. On the same day, the BBB of West Florida contacted us, we told them about VPS offer. They told us that we could reopen the complaint if we wanted to.
By April we still have yet to receive any inquiries or offers to rent our timeshare. We left several messages for Mr. Perry to return our calls but he never did. We sent him a letter on April 30th giving VPS until the end of May to rent our timeshare. Mr. Perry did not respond to our letter. During our phone coversation with Mr. Perry on May 24th, he "dared" us to reopen the complaint with the BBB of West Florida and called our April 30th letter "BS"! On May 26th, we reopened our complaint with the BBB of West Florida.
Mr. Perry responded to the compalint by stating that they have bent over backwards to make us happy. We guess that not returning our phone calls and not responding to our letter makes us happy.
VPS has lied and misrepresented themselves to us. They are rude and unprofessional. When we try to contact James or Mr. Perry we are told that they are out of the office or on another line. When we leave messagess for them to return our call, they never call us back. We have had to be extremely persistent in order to speak to James or Mr. Perry.
Now when we call to speak to Mr. Perry the receptionist will ask for our name and put us on hold and no one picks up!
Once VPS got our money the phone calls and caring stopped! We lost the rental amount on our 2003 timeshare and we are about to loose the rental amount of our 2004 timeshare.
VPS is a SCAM!!! Consumers need to be aware of them!!! Stay away from VPS!!!
