In the past, I booked several flights on Direct Air and paid for the tickets when I booked the flight. On Feb 9th I decided to use Direct Air's Family Ties to lock in an attractive rate for two round trip tickets to Niagara Falls. I intended to use the vouchers to secure seats on a flight from Myrtle Beach, SC so I could attend my father's 90th birthday. I attempted to reserve my seats on Feb 26th and I was surprised and appalled when I learned that I could not secure confirmed seats using the vouchers. I had to complete an on-line itinerary request form selecting two travel dates and I have to wait 5 to 7 days before confirmation if seats are available.
None of these stipulations were explained in the Direct Air e-mail that I received announcing the special fares. Had I known about the restrictions to booking flights using the vouchers, I would not have purchased the vouchers. Had I not purchased vouchers and just booked my flight on the 26th, I would have secured the seats I wanted for $42.00 less per ticket
