Bought travel insurance for a flight Boston-Madrid. Had a separate reservation to fly from Madrid to Lisbon. Airline cancelled flight Boston_Madrid and rerouted to a flight Boston-London-Madrid. Because of the rerouting, arrived to Madrid 3 hours later than originally planned and missed flight to Lisbon.
Had to pay $145.61 for rebooking flight Madrid-Lisbon. Access America and parent company Allianz Global Assistance refuse to pay the claim.
When talking to them is like taking to people that do not speak the same language. They keep talking about delays and needing proof of delay. I sent a copy of the email from the airline notifying of the flight cancellation and rerouting to new flights.
