I wrote to them on their feedback page. I called them. I tried to explain why I deserved my deposit back, but they were not interested in giving it back to me under any circumstances. The manager who worked at this particular location gave me false sympathy alternating with annoyance at my repeated calls.
Intown Suites is a scheme invented to take advantage of desperate people. Posing as a bargain, they reach their target audience: someone who is having some major life-crisis and thinks saving $100 a week will help them. These people will rip you off. They describe this as an Extended Living Hotel. The advertised price is just under $200 a week for a studio apartment. The contract you sign is long and has a great deal of fine print.
What the fine print does is it forces you to agree to legal terms that basically surrender your 'deposit' for a number of reasons that are controlled entirely by the staff.
There is no lobby open after 7 pm. There is no service after 7 pm. This is not only a way to save money, but also a way to create situations where you are required to do something that is not possible and thus lose your deposit. Because the contract you must sign simply to stay here contains so many clauses, they have the right to keep this money on a whim. And what can you do? Nothing, because you signed a contract. It is my opinion that this is intentional, malicious, and consistent with other dubious practices performed by this company.
