This company is a scam! Do not get sucked into their trap!
Here is the letter I will be sending to them certified: We no longer wish to receive services from Sundance Vacations for the following reasons:
We believe Sundance Vacations misrepresented the selection of properties available. We also believe Sundance Vacations exaggerated the quality of the properties and sadly we found them to be of poorer or lesser quality than was explained and showed to us during the sales presentation. We also weren't told about all the extra fees during peak seasons. We had filled out a card that we were told was to win free gas.
Then your company called us to say we won and that we had to go in for a sales presentation in order to receive the free gas voucher. At the time, our phone number was on the "Do Not Call List". The FTC has repeatedly ruled that sweepstakes entry forms do NOT waive the consumers privacy rights under the Do Not Call Regulations. Therefore, this alone warrants us a full refund. We never received the free gas either because that company took our $5.00 "refundable deposit" and ran.
When we went to a scheduled vacation in October at the Esplanades in Wildwood, NJ, we received a call from your company asking if someone could come out and give us a survey to see if the property lived up to our expectations, which it didn't and on the one bed was a open safety pin laying under the covers and someone could have cut themselves, like our two year old son. When the person came to our room, he began to try to sell us the VIP package. Again, what was said to us was quite misleading.
We were told that there were separate properties for VIP members, which when we called to inquire about these separate properties we were told there is no separate properties. He also told us we could split weeks anytime and we specifically told him we wanted to use one vacation to go to Hawaii, and he told us we could split the week between the two different properties. Again, this was a lie because Hawaii is pretty much ALWAYS in peak season, and we found out you can't split weeks during peak season.
He also told us that if we signed up, that he would give us a free voucher for buy one get one free airline tickets. He specifically said we could use this also for the Hawaii trip. When we received this "free voucher" in the mail, it stated we had to pay a $25 "refundable" deposit, which as you can understand, due to past experience, we are quite skeptical about. It also states that it's only good for the 48 continental states, which Hawaii is NOT one of them. Also, it states you can only use this on Saturdays. Another thing we were NOT told.
For this reason, we feel that we signed the VIP contract under false pretenses, so therefore our contract is not valid. We are revoking the pre-authorizations for payment to be taken out of our account.
We called on November 8 to try to talk to someone about these issues and the person was extremely rude towards us and they said they would have their supervisor call back because she was "on the phone". We are still waiting for this call.
