Travel Advantage Network (TAN) Scams and Lies from Sundance Vacations

While attending a White Sox game I was approached to fill out a sweepstakes entry and a couple of weeks later received several phone calls/voicemails asking me to call because I won a "free cruise". At first I figured it was a scam but went against my better judgement and called. I was told my name was pulled in the drawing and I won a free Royal Caribbean cruise and all they asked was that I attended an hour presentation.

I went and was reconfirmed during the presentation that the cruise was mine to keep no matter what. The presentation consisted of a very high energy saleswoman showing slides of different resorts and talking about how you can save a bundle and go on the vacation of your dreams with their vacation packages. After the presentation several other sales persons come into the room and call you out to talk to them about purchasing.

My sales guy reiterated the perks of the vacation package and after I declined a couple of times he then brought over his supervisor who bargained with lower prices and even added on an additional week to the package. Needless to say I was suckered into purchasing it without given the chance or appropriate time to think it over. I received my cruise certificate and also a food voucher to use at Red Lobster or Olive Garden but I had to pay for my meal and send in my receipt to be reimbursed which I never received.

After a few months I decided to plan a vacation which you have to do through TAN online at www.planwithtan.com or by calling one of their representatives. To my surprise no matter what dates or property I looked into, nothing was ever available. Plus the pictures of the "resorts" on the website looked nothing like what was shown during the presentation. The website pictures looked like outdated motel rooms not luxurious/updated resorts which was Sundance's selling point. This was a red flag so I called Sundance to cancel my vacation package.

The first woman I spoke to at Sundance told me that I could not cancel and to call TAN, when I told her I would do just that she preceded to tell me that she was the manager of TAN (another red flag). Spoke to a woman at TAN who also said I could not cancel. Long story short I spoke to four different people who directed me somewhere else and said I could not cancel which is a lie. I had already stopped all auto debits and canceled my bank account.

I sent an email to Sundance stating that I wanted to cancel my vacation package and was looking for a full refund. The next day I received a reply stating they would cancel but I had to sign and return a "gag" letter and remove any posts or remarks that I have on all social websites. I refused and thanks to the help of Boycott Sundance Group on Facebook, I am on my way to getting this disaster of a headache resolved. Sundance is a joke and gets a kick out of scamming innocent people of their hard earned money and they need to be shut down.
