Racial Abuse

While enjoying the 2 parks during our holiday in orlando, at the end of one day there, a rep asked my husband to fill out a survey, to which he kindly declined, a second survey rep, came over and said sarcastically " have a nice day sir, you black bastard" he thought we did not hear (including our 2 children heard this), so we approached him, and asked him to repeat it and he became worried and scared, said it was "the end of the month and he was having a bad day", then we said we were now going to report him to guest services, which we did. We spoke to the guest relations staff who were very helpful and sensitive, we told them what had happened and she informed his manager Sharon Roebuck, where my husband gave his statement to her to investigate.

My husband is infact Dominican, and our children mixed race, British, so he couldn, t have been more wrong on the racial front. The fact it was said in front of our children at a theme park, which we have spent alot of money to go there was appaulling, adding to the fact the original survey guy was asian, who must have heard him too. We have still to hear back from Sharon and to the situation and how it has been dealt with so far. So unfortunately we are now having to chase by email to find out. As they have no "complaints dept."

There are many other problems with this park, with poor customer service across the parks, esp the meet and greet at the entrances surely with fierce competition from WDW, you would think they would be on the ball, staff would be more friendly when your queuing, maybe speak some basic, spanish, french and german, to help visitors who spend also alot of money to go there... People are spending alot of money to visit America period, these parks could be more helpful and polite, as its the visitors who are helping to keep these parks open. A little politeness goes along way, and no one should have to visit and get abuse for not filling out a survey on a hot day, on your holiday.

I hope to recieve some letter or email regarding what has happened regarding this incident, because no visitors should tolerate any kind of abuse from anyone at any time. Universal and WDW need to step up and do better if it wants our hard earned money from us to holiday there... Make sure that you complain in person there, and get employees names, in order for your complaint to be heard, only then will they take possibly you seriously...
