Today I received a very official-looking mailer that said "Personal and Official." It was supposed to have been sent by US Airlines (no other name, return address, etc.), offering me an "award" of two round trip airline tickets worth up to $1,400.
The notice said that this is my last chance to respond, and gave the number 1-866-284-9596.
My question is: why would anyone want to give me something that is "worth" $1,400, when I did not ask for it? The only reasonable answer that I can come up with is that they want to rip me off.
