Orbitz reservation? Nope - Car Reservation

My husband is on a trip to California for a family funeral. I booked his rental car on Orbits, though I usually use travelocity. Searched "John Wayne airport" and booked it, though the confirmation said a Santa Ana address, rather than the airport name. I thought, okay, the airport is in Santa Ana, so this must be the airport address, or it's one of those rental car places just next to the airport. First, not at the airport; 3. Miles away, requires cab ride. Second, that agency has NO cars left. They did not hold a car. Have never had this problem with dozens of reservations with travelocity. Third and of course, this is not orbits fault, now they want 3 times the cost for a car at the airport. So, my husband has the huge hassle of waiting, calling, etc trying to get this straightened out, and then a cab ride, for a pick-up truck which is all hertz has left. My feedback for Orbits: if search is airport, clearly disclose if rental is NOT at airport. ALSO, disclose that reservation does not hold a vehicle for you (though I have to wonder what on earth the reservation is for?) Orbits customer service did promise to send a$ 50 travel voucher to compensate us for this trouble and having to drive a pickup, but that is small comfort if my husband has an accident in that notoriously unsafe vehicle, not to mention the bad gas mileage. If this is error on hertz part, please let me know so I can send appropriate feedback.
