We traveled to visit friends in Hawaii in 2010 and found that the same tickets that we had purchased almost a year previosly from Cheap Tickets were cheaper by almost $100 just before our flight. I called the 800 number and complained that we should've been due a refund as they advertize that if you purchase from them and what you purchase goes on sale you will get the refund for the difference by mail.
The employee apoligized and said she would issue us a $50.00 voucher for any future travel we booked thru them. I told her that a one-year expiration date would do us no good as we weren't planning on travelling anywhere within the year. She assured me that the voucher could be extended for another year if as long as I called before the expiration date. I even went so far as to put the travel voucher date of expiration in my planner so I wouldn't forget it.
I contacted Cheap Tickets by email and nicely asked if I could get the extension now as we were planning on traveling again to Hawaii in 2012. I was told there was a one year date of expiration and that it should've been enough for me. I sent them a return email stating that I thought they should rename the company Cheap Tactics and that I would vilify their name with every web site and person I could find as I felt that I had been ripped off.
