Booked 2 rooms in the Rail Car section for my family. My grandson (age 4) is a train fanatic, it was his birthday and we thought staying in a real train car would be a memory he'd never forget.
Neither will WE!!!
Awoke at 3 am, room had to be below 60 degrees. Thermostat was set on 80. Checked the outlets, very little heat coming out. My 4 year old and 11 month old grandsons were asleep so we bundled up and lived with it.
Next morning, time for a shower. NO pressure out of the shower head. Broken, leaking everywhere. We just made do.
Complained to the manager, a nice lady but not understanding.
Stated we should have called the desk and got a tech to check on the heat issue.
Really? At 3 am with 2 sleeping babies?
We could have moved you...
Really. Again, at 3 am and with 2 sleeping babies?
As for the shower, as we were leaving, the maintenance guy shows up with a new shower head so hopefully the next poor souls will have a shower.
Overall, the Choo Choo is a good experience for children who like trains but if you plan to experience the train cars, do it in the summer (wonder if the AC works?), but you'll be better off staying somewhere else.
These rooms are dated and musty. Uncomfortable beds and something you'd pay under $60 for at a 2 or even 3 star hotel. NOT the $200 we paid for the experience.
I will visit chattanooga again, and maybe visit the choo choo but will never stay there again overnight...
