Hotel sold my room to for high price

I had a reservation made to La Quinta Inn. (800-531-5900) Reservation number: #3121740969 Date: August 7 for one night with credit card guarantee. Price: $82.45. On August 7,10pm, I arrived at the hotel with my wife and my kid. I walked to the front desk and lady on duty and her name is Macy. She asked if I had a reservation. I said yes and that my last name is Ting. Her face suddenly changed like she had a big trouble come up. She said that she was so sorry and that she didn’t know we were coming and she had sold our room to someone else. She said she tried to contact with me but the phone number wasn’t right. On the same time I called 800-531-5900 to verify my reservation with my phone number and all the information was correct. I talked to the customer service department in central reservation about them selling my room to some other people and they said it has been within 24 hours and you have to deal with the hotel. So I asked Macy if I could talk to the manager or supervisor. She called her supervisor at home and I talked to him. He told me that he was sorry and that there was no rooms available but that I could call back the next day after 8am and talk to the general manager. I talked to Macy and told her that this was unacceptable and that she had to do something about it at the same time a lady came in and had a conversation with Macy. She mentioned 180 dollars and walked away. So that meant that there was still a room available but they were trying to sell it for a high price. Until 11:30pm, she told me she found a room for me. It was Days Inn in downtown Missoula. The price was $120 plus tax. She said if I wanted it I could take it but I would have to pay for it. If you have any concern you can come back tomorrow after 8pm and talk to the general manager. I left her my phone number so that someone could call me so we can take care of this issue. Until today, no one ever called and it is August 27. I was asking La Quinta Inn’s general manager to give me a full respond.
