I woke up June 11 to find Spirit airlines pilot had gone on strikeI had a round trip ticket from RSW to ORD - to attend a wedding. I immediately went to the hotels business center, and found thatAmerican Airlines had a flight out early Tuesday -6/15-so I booked two (2) seats— imagine my surprise - my two (2) oneway tickets were one and a half times what it cost me to fly roundtrip - I paid $600 round trip on Spirit - and I was charged $750 on American-mind you this was ONE WAY - There were numerous grumblings at he airport by passengers who were also left stranded.
