Lillian Miller contacted me 4/11/09 by email advising me she had an AKC puppy 14 weeks old in ANchorage/AK and she couldn't keep her due to her landlord. She said I could pay shipping and have her. Sounded nice.
Same day she went to shipping company and emailed me that I would receive pup in 6 hours after I paid fees of $250.00. A man called with a very strong accent and I couldn't understand him. He said I should check email and I tried to call him back but number wasn't any good. Email was from International Cargo Movers and they required money to be sent Western Union to this foreign place in Africa because their phone lines had problems and their website was being worked on.
Then there was more emails and they wanted more money. Lillian claims to have paid them $500 more. I was still suppose to by the end pay them an additional $200 for crate, $180 for transfer of ownership document, $230 insurance cost that's $610 more then they started claiming that I would get a refund of $550 once the pup, Belta arrived. Yeah sure. Well, I never had that kind of money and I couldn't pay even if I'd wanted to.
Lillian emailed me this: "Dean I am full of tears. I went to the company today and saw other pets leave I have over worked myself, the company is 20 miles away from my house, but I have gone there a hundred times. I slept there the whole of yesterday to see Belta fly. They explained everything to me detailing and I saw reaons why Belta could not fly without insurance (which is 98% refundable) as I was told. I have been busy all day (4/13/09) to get the $610 but all I could get is $300. Kathy I'm confident in you and that is why I decided to chose you to adopt Belta amongst the many who proposed I don't want Belta to get in the hands of some breeder who would just use her to get puppies. I'm in tears please lets get through with this Belta is so so worried this company are no scams because I actually saw other peoples pets fly. Please please try to get the other half of the money waiting to read from you asap.
After me refusing. She sent me another email and stating that she had $500 and asked me for $110. I told her to go and pick her dog back up. She said she couldn't
I never paid more and I never got the dog. She said later that she had tried to get them in trouble and she was very upset with me because I didn't pay and get her poor puppy. I have a feeling she was in on it.
