I dont know how to start. We had made arrangements with Cozy Crest Nearly a Month Prior to our stay for 3 rooms. They advertise their site as particularly regal, "Welcome to the Cozy Crest Motel where prestige service is offered. Come and enjoy the coziest hospitality in a warm friendly and pleasant environment at ONE OF THE WILDWOODS' FAMOUS VACATION SITES
". Now with that statement, and the images one the Cozy Crest website, I was easily duped into believing such a statement.
Falling for the images of happy faces in the swimming pool contained on the site, I felt secure enough to reserve the rooms. I do not live in Wildwood, and therefore had never seen or heard anything discouraging about the Motel. Though once we arrived we soon realized the error in judgment.
After arriving there were 2 Men (One Middle aged, and one significantly older). The Middle aged man, was more the excited to do business with us, and take our cash and finalize this transaction before giving us our Room Key. As we filled out our confusing paperwork, what seemed to be an agreement for service, and a disclaimer stating many things, they could control/do, and would not be responsible for. After all had signed their names to this (some did not sign as there were 25 of us total and some were not told needed to sign this), and an insistence of a receipt be given to us... We progressed onto our room.
Upon entering our room, as anyone would, we began to inspect out new surroundings. Within this so called "Prestigious, Cozy, Hospitable, Warm, Friendly Environment" contained... A Horrible sent, several/all end/coffee/dining tables/surfaces were dirty and covered in Marijuana pieces/stems, Dirty pots and pans (surfaces were caked with carbon/food/mold), and as if that isnt bad enough, the toilet was full with fecal matter/garbage, and upon flushing overflowed upon the floor.inclusively the Shower curtain (yellow) had nearly been covered with mold entirely, facing the shower side.

Bringing this information to the attention to the Staff (the two men in the Office mentioned previously), they offered us another room. We accepted this room in the hope that the one prior had just been overlooked by the Cleaning Service. Again finding our hope mistakenly placed within any idea of staying in a clean room within this Motel, we examine our 2nd room.
The 2nd room was slightly smaller than the first (size doesnt matter), and was just as dirty as the first, several noticeable health concerns quickly. Dirty Sheets, and Bedding, Dirty Pots and pans, Dirty Equipment Units i.E. Microwave, Coffee maker, Toaster Refrigerator. The worst in this room would have to be the shower. On the floor surface Laid Flooring (anti-slip) mats, I lifted these to inspect. Underneath what were 5 flooring mats, were mold, dirt, grime, and other small objects (I would have sworn were moving).
After Seeing the First and Second Rooms, and hearing the reports, and seeing several problems with the rooms, our friends were in. We (Those who were staying with me) decided to go out in search of another Motel with Rooms that were not of this disgusting quality. We found several other motels, that we could book for the weekend, witin-walking distance of the Cozy Crest.
(With in a Half-hour of arrival) After Returning to the Cozy Crest, we requested a refund of the price of the rooms, for which we were not going to stay in after what we had seen, and experienced in this Motel. They Refused, and continued to blame us for the Status of the rooms, claiming we had dirtied these 2 rooms, and therefore were responsible for them, and had to stay.
With one word could describe it as Disgustinglyfrightening. We placed several calls to the Board of Health (Answering Machines received our calls, and we received no response there after) concerning the state of the Motel. An Officer who was in the area, took our plea of help and inspected the Rooms we had been previously given, although he stated the he would not stay/nor let his family stay in such a 'DIRTY' Motel, there was nothing he could due, unless harm was imminent.
After what could have been an hour and a half, we continued to try to get our refund. They had not had any sort of refund policy, and upon request of such information they called the Police to contain the situation (mind you there was no need for this as no one was in any sort of danger, I just intimidated them). The Police arrived several moments later, and assisted us (for they claimed to have knowledge of previous complaints, and concerns, with Cozy Crest, but would not divulge this information to us) with our problem. 3 Officers, each took turns conferring with the two men in the office (Who refused to give their names), but to no avail. The men insisted that we had no right to the refund, but had no documentation to support this, until several hours later that day.
They had posted several 'Refund Policies' around the office after we had found the matter futile, and left them for a couple of hours. Within this time, most of all of those staying with my group (25 in 3 rooms) found another location to stay, and we (those remaining) waited, hoping to figure out how to get our refund. After another sore attempt at getting our refund, we checked out, and claimed what they offered, our security deposit.
After receiving this, Our Security Deposit we had no option but to leave them with our Money, and Try to enjoy what was left of our weekend despite Cozy Crests' Cheat.
This is only part of a longer more traumatizing experience
