I had booked a dive with Aqua Sports Inc back in August. The dive was the morning of August 30th with Parrot Island Scuba adventures and was canceled due to weather.
I had responded to the dive confirmation email as told, informing them that the dive was canceled and requested a refund. I received an email that the fee would be refunded.
In January of I discovered that the amount was never credited back to the card. I have been contacting this business for the last six and a half months trying to get a refund.in March, I was told they had approved the refund, but they didn't have my address, so they were still waiting to process it. They had my contact information and could have called me to get my address, but instead waited for me to call in again.
I provided my address and they said they would get it processed and sent
out. Three weeks later I called back in to see why I still had not
recieved a check. I was told since they had to process the checks
electronically, it takes 3-4 weeks, so I should have it soon.
Another 4 weeks after that I still had not recieved the check. After weeks of calling in and leaving message where no one calls back, I finally got a hold of someone. I was told the check was sent to Bloomington IN instead of IL.
Then they told me to try to work through my credit card company first. American express was unable to dispute the charge after 90 days but indicated the merchant can process it electronically at any time whether it was 90 days or 5 years ago.
It took me 2 weeks of calling back in to get a hold of someone again. They said they could send me another check, but it would take another 3-4 weeks. It has now been a 6 weeks since then and I still haven't recieved it.
I called in the other day and miraculously got a hold of someone. They said to call back after 2:00 and someone would be able to help me. Now after 2 more days of calling back in, I still haven't been able to talk with anyone.
I have tried all the email addresses listed and have not gotten any responses. I sent a fax to the number provided and it did not go through since there is no signal for that number.
I tried to contact the actual dive company and they indicated they are never able to get a hold of anyone here either and have gotten similar complaints about this company from other customers or dive operators.
If you have been screwed by this company contact the Attorney General. I have tried to take this through the BBB and AG's office, but they get no response from this company as well.
Do not provide any credit card information to this company. The actual statement on my card shows an address in California as the billing merchant. When you look it up, it is the address for E Bay Inc.
Stay away from this company and do not fall for thier professional looking website.
