On july 6 i booked a room at the windham hotel in vineland n.J. For 3 days beginning 8/14/09. Unfortunately i used travelocity.com to book it for me. 4 days later, and over 30 days in advance of arrival i called to cancel the reservation. Travelocity said they would cancel the room but not the charges for it.
The full amount $377.06 had been charged to my credit card and they were not refunding one penny of it. They said it was their policy as that was the only way they could guaranted thier incredible discount savings to their customers. I checked with the hotel in vineland and inquired as to their rates and cancellation policy.
The incredible savings travelocity claimed to be saving me and therefore couldn't refund amounted to a total of $16.23 which included all taxes. This is an absurd rip off of consumers and should be investigated by the federal trade commission as well as the dept. Of justice. How can they be allowed to rip us off like that?
A nominal fee for late cancellation, yes i agree. This policy of no refund even though cancelling over 30 days in advance... Hell no! That's fraud. Go to this website, and read about all the other people that have been ripped off by travelocity. Never use them.! Warn your friends
