Rip off by overbooking, canceling flight and making others miss flights with no change provision without charging more fees Phoenix

Arriving @ Phoenix Sky Harbor in time for my companion to make his flight to go home to Binghamton NY for Father's day to be with his children and his father, United Airlines ignored me when I tried to ask questions, sent me to a line that had travelers ahead of me who were outraged that their flights had been canceled, and basically told me "you are too late for that flight, but we can schedule you for another one for another ticket fee".

When I explained to the United agent it was their inability to move the lines quickly enough for my friend (Richard Doebler, who is ill) to make his flight, the agent argued with me. She said since the tickets were purchased through CheatTickets, only they could make the change. After spending time attempting to debate the issue with agent "Vickie", we left and called CheapTickets from my home.

CheapTickets spent over 5 and a half hours on the phone with United Airlines, but each time she put the call on conference, the "Customer Relations" representative claimed not to be able to hear. I took the responsibility of calling United Airlines directly and after 4 hours of being on hold, transferred and hung up on, "Alfie" who gave me employee id #V03 (Which I later found was ficticious) stated he made arrangements for Mr Doebler for the next day (Fathers Day June 21), at 7:29am leaving Phoenix.

I called 5 separate times requesting an email of confirmation, and was told it was the same as the day before. We arrived at 5:42am and got the same agent "Vickie" as the day before. She told me there was no reservation and we would have to buy a new ticket. She said the previous ticket was voided. We are out the money for the ticket, 2 tanks of gas to go to and from the airport, $10 for parking, let alone the frustrations.

There is more to the story, with the way United had no record of Mr Doebler arriving at the airport on Sat., June 20, and an hour later their system showed he was at the counter at 8:03am (how convenient, his flight left at 7:50am), and how the agent stated the record on the kios self-help stated I "utilized it at 7:18am". I may have but it was the 4th or 5th time. When I asked her if it was the 1st or last time the time was recorded, she said "the first"... Implicating we were not in line timely.

However, Mr. Doebler was in the 1st class line to begin with, and when I finally got direction to go to the regular line, it was 7:12am. Regardless, United Airlines was the cause of Mr Doebler missing his flight, and CheapTickets has no problem with them reissuing the ticket.

United Airlines takes no responsibility for the problems they have caused us and it is unfair and unacceptable treatment. United told me to buy another ticket, but I reminded them "We can't afford to do that, that's why we bought through CheapTickets to begin with"... Can someone help?
