Checking my online credit card statement yesterday I noted a 600 ($1000) charge for a booking made via IAN Travel Services. This was a Fraudulent entry.
Neither my partber nor I ahve made any online booking for travel or hotels with Ian Travel. IAN Travel is linked to Ian.com who I believe are 'Interactive Affiliate Network' - awholebunch of affiliated companies who make booking through and via this entity.
Problem here is it seems impossible to check who and how made this fraudulent booking. The contact number shown is not registered (or just not clear if in France/UK etc).
My bank's Fraud Dept have been advised (HSBC) and I'm destroying the card. But clearly there is something very strange about this site.in fact Google IAN Travel and what do you see - references to usacomplaints.com entries.
I'm in Europe. The usacomplaints.com I saw was in USA - teh internet has no biundaries. Take care when using any site and on the basis iof what I have just experienced, maybe steer clear of certain hotel booking sites.
