This company mailed me a brochure, saying my 'Leisure Advantage' service was being upgraded, and if I did nothing, they would automatically charge my credit card $149.95 for membership, or to call them at 1-877-271-4660 if I did not want it.
To my knowledge, I had never signed up with Leisure Advantage, and figured this was some kind of a scam, so I did nothing.
Lo and behold, when I got my Visa statement, I found a $149.95 charge from them. I called Visa, and they put this amount in dispute, and said they would try to contact Simple Escapes. They also suggested that I call Simple Escapes. I did, and complained. The person there kept trying to tell me what a good deal this was. I kept telling them that I did not order this, did not want it, and wanted a credit for the $149.95 amount. I had to repeat this several times, before they stopped their sales pitch. Finally she said they would cancel the charge, but it might take a couple of billing cycles. HA!
I have also called the Attorney General's office in Vermont and reported this. Since this, I did a search on the internet, and found that I am not the only person being ripped off.
I hope they get driven out of business...
