Take Me On Vacation
Rip Off sounded good But had a sting in the tail

Three days ago (16th Feb), I was contacted by a very pleasent lady, stating that we had been selected from thousands of people to receive a fantastic holiday to Florida.

8 days in Orlando at a 5 star hotel, 4 days on a cruise to the Bahamas, all inclusive. And then another 8 days in Fort Lauderdale.

Plus if we agreed to the package the company would grant us a further holiday to some far off land (Thailand, Bali or Kenya) for 2 persons.

All we had to do was make our own travel arrangments and pay of any extras, such as phone calls, room service etc, everything else was included.

She wanted us to pay a small deposit on our credit card and they would be able to send all the details. When I asked how much, she said it would not be any more than 500.00 ($800 US).

In fact it was 500.00. At this I smelt a rat! However the salesperson was very helpful and said that all of their paperwork and credentuials had been verified and passed by the UK Trading Standards.

Which sounded comforting, but I found out later the Trading Standards had never heard of them. AgainI was pressed for my credit card details so they could proceed with the presentation.

When I asked for time to think about the holiday, I was told this was a one off phone call and the offer would be withdrawn if I did not agree at this moment.

When I pressed further, it turns out that the deposit is not a deposit at all, but a payment for one person, followed by another payment of 500.00 at a later date, but not more that60 days before the holiday.

I could of course add other members to my party at a cost of about 250.00 a time and that the holiday would be held for atleast 18 months.

Obviously I did not proceed and told the sales person this, she then put me onto her boss, who tried to get my card details and offered me yet another holiday as a bonus. Finally they got the message, thanked me for my time and rang off.

I thought that was the end of it, but today I get a phone call from the same company, same lady, same holiday, same story. She seemed most upset when I told her that they had spoken to me only 3 days ago.

Unfortunatly, this did not seem to register with her, then off she went with the story yet again. I think they must have brainwashed their sales staff and that if question is asked that is not in the script then a supervisor is called over. Eventually they rang off and life returns to normal.

So please dont be taken in by these people who offer fantastic holidays. They are only after your money. BE WARNED!
