C & B Getaways sold me a distributorship package for $69.00, I thought it was my chance to become self -employed. They sent me a sample of a travel certicates to distribute to people. I was to recieve a pdf file by way of e-mail that he was to send to me "after" I recieved his package in the mail. I'd sent him three emails and he did respond to them, but I feel he mislead me and a lot of others, maybe in much the same manner. He led me to believe that they were helping the economy, they also have a promotion for gasolene too.
He told me by way of e-mail— to call him on the following monday and he would answer the questions that I had posed to him at that time. And so I did call him... For three hours time—every 5 to ten minutes! The phone would either ring off of the hook or it was busy.
So I went to this site and saw the other C & B Getaways complaint from another man! He had complained about losing $800.00 and I said —"nope"— not going to happen to me! So I called the bank the next day to cancell the check. I thought to myself "either way —whether they were a legitimate company that is busy and won't answer the phone or a rip-off artist playing a game with me on the internet—I was out of this game!"
If it was a legitimate company and I had a legitimate complaint with them, all the way down in Florida—they never answered the phone! I couldn't run a travel certificate business in that manner. And the questions that I had —he never did respond to. Questions like: What hotel chain does he work with? What is the turn-around time from when he recieved the check or money order to when the customers recieved the certificates? What airline was involved in this offer that he had promoted? No response from him —period!
He had my phone number and address on the bottom of my email, he knew the questions I had... Just never wanted to legitimize himself, period!
He had my money and maybe that's all he cared about as well! He just never realized who he was dealing with!
He had my money and then he lost it —because I cancelled that account and it didn't cost me a dime to cancell it either—the bank did it for me for nothing! I was just glad that I did not lose anything other than the price of a new order of checks and postage.
