Re: Trip confirmation # P25106-00 #1113670 #0125510 - Vancouver to Florida

Dear Sir:

I am writing to you in regard to a trip that you, Vacation Promotions organized for me and my friend, Gail Guise. We were anticipating a pleasant trip where, according to your agent, we would stay in deluxe hotels, have travel accommodations provided for to and from a time share presentation, and travel to the Bahamas on a cruise ship.

I am asking for your help to resolve a few issues that arose throughout our trip to Florida.

On Wednesday, October 1, we arrived in Orlando, Florida. With our confirmation papers in hand, we took a taxi to the Orlando Welcome Centre Ramada Maingate West. This taxi ride cost $60.00. We arrived there only to find out the hotel was under renovation and that we were being redirected to another hotel, the Howard Johnson Maingate West; another $30.00 taxi ride. We understand that renovation plans sometime mean that travelers must be moved. But, because of the extra cost we had to incur, we are requesting that we are reimbursed the cost of the first taxi ride, $60.00.

When we arrived at the Howard Johnson Maingate West, we discovered that it too was under renovation. Renovations meant that the pool was out of service, two days we did not have hot water for showers and the restaurant was only providing breakfast. The good thing about this hotel was the shuttle to the attractions.

The timeshare presentation also required that we pay a taxi fare to and from the welcome Centre which was a total of $40.00.

The car was a surprise, everything was fine except we had been given an incorrect. Confirmation number and we had to go to the airport to pick it up. This cost us another $35.00.

We finally went to Daytona Beach and were quite happy with the accommodation. We were quite excited about our cruise. We had never been on one so this would give us an idea if we like this type of travel.

We went to the presentation and found out by accident that the cruise had been cancelled. We called the same phone number we had tired at Orlando but no one was there so again we left a message. Finally we did talk to Teresa who told us a number of stories about why and when the cruise had been cancelled we already heard that the people at the hotel already knew three weeks ahead of time that the cruise had been cancelled.

It was quite distressing that we were not informed about the cancellation of the cruise until the day before were leaving to go to Fort Lauderdale.

We are requesting a refund for the amount of $398 dollars which was the port tax plus $98 one time fee back for the cruise. We also think you owe us $135 for the taxi's we had to take. The total dollar amount we would like refunded is $631.00. We have all the receipts as well as the two emails I sent you before we left.

We did receive one e-mail two days before we left saying the weather was fine when I asked if there were any changes, to the cruise. The second e-mail was not even responded to.

Yours Sincerely

Cathy
