This company took our deposit ($800) for an apartment shown on their web site. Two days before we traveled to NYC they notified us by email that the apartment was damaged ("by flood") and that they would refund our money. They never refunded it. This was back in October, about nine months ago. I should have reported sooner, but for several months kept hoping they would return the money. They told us they had sent it but never gave details nor followed up. We tried calling and emailing many times but never got a response.
Our trip was nearly canceled because of this—it is nearly impossible to rebook any kind of rooms in NYC that time of month at the last minute. After nearly 24-hours of constant effort I booked a room but it cost twice as much—we ended up being out about $1500.

I have noticed another complaint on them almost identical to ours. I wish we had reported sooner, perhaps could have prevented further scams. I have some other information—bank number, caretaker's number, etc. But didn't include them here—not sure the best way to follow up.
