I too fell for the scam that is Vacation Promotions. I agreed to purchase the "fully refundable, no questions asked" package in October after discussing it with my husband we decided that we would not be able to take advatage of the package (I was 5 months pregnant at the time). I called back the day after I made the purchase and told them to not charge my card or to refund if it had already been processed, I DID NOT receive the package at all!
I was told it could take up to 3-4 months to process the refund. Needless to say, I have yet to receive anything. As a matter of fact I called this morning and spoke with "Amy" who told me that there was a problem with the gateway for my credit card company and I would have to file a dispute with them to get my money back. When I told her there was nothing wrong with the gateway (I had already contacted the credit card company), she said that she would re-request the refund. To which I naturally responded, "Oh, so I might get my refund in another 9 months!?!?"; her response nearly made me choke! I quote "Probably not."
It has been too long for my credit card company to do anything, to give them credit though, they said they would send the dispute and do what they can to get the money back.
Since I'm not the type of person to take getting screwed lightly I've been online all morning getting info on this company. I've filed a complaint with the 'Better Business Bureau' in Florida and with the 'Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services'. I saw that someone else here got a refund after taking these measures and I'm hoping I'll get the same results.
