5 Months and Still no Refund!

I got a call from Vacation Promotions offerring me a vacation in Florida along with a Cruise, and the only thing that I had to do was go to this Time Share. After asking every question I could think of and even checking out their website (so I thought) I finally agread.

The company took the money off of my credit card within an hour of talking to them and send me the package within a few days. They told me the package was fully refundable and that I had to send it back within 30 days along with a written explanation why I do not want it anymore.

My mother passed away this past May, and I ended up spending all of my savings on her funeral. I needed my money back and couldn't think about taking a vacation, so I wrote a letter explaining that my Mother passed away and I would not be able to take the vacation. I even sent it priority mail so I would get a reciept to prove when I sent it back in case they tried to say that I did not send it back in time.

I called a week after I mailed it back, and they said that it had not been processed yet and that it would take up to 14 days. Then I called back in 30 days (giving them plenty of time) and the girl I talked to said that it would take 30-45 days and that the other person who told me 14 days did not know what she was talking about.

I told her this was unacceptable that they took my money the same day they called me and that they can return it just as fast. She became agressive and rude on the phone so I asked to speek with her supervisor.

Her supervisor came on the phone and told me there was nothing he could do about it and that he would "red flag" my account in hopes that it would get processed sooner and sent back to me.

I have now wated at least 2 months since calling and still have not recieved my refund. I have called them everyday leaving messages and no one will call me back. I finally got ahold of a person for her to tell me that someone will call me back.

Another girl called me back today and told me that there was nothing she could do about my refund because there was a problem with the merchant with my credit card and the account was on a freeze. I told her this was my bank card (with a VISA logo) and that there was no such freeze on my account and I was at the bank just yesterday.

She then offerred me a free vacation package. I told her that it was not free since they took my money in the first place and have not refunded me. I did not want a new vacation, and I want my money back.

She then became rude on the phone and told me that I would have to contact my bank and that they would give me my money back. When I told her that I did not understand she said I was not listening and that she was going to hang up on me. I told her this was unacceptable and that I wanted to talk to her supervisor. Which she informed me was not there. I told her I wanted to talk to another supervisor then, and she told me that there was only one and they were not there.

Then, I told her, "why would they give me my money back when they didn't take it and it was your company who did?" She said that was the only way to get my money back and then hung up on me.

I called the number back and got the same woman as when I first called who told me she would get someone to call me back again. Still nothing. I do not take this lighlty and I will fight tooth and nail to get my money back. This is bad business!!! That and I am a single mom who could use my money back!
