Don't Do It:) Pushed a Sale, Had No Credit Card, Gave Me A Payment Plan

I received my scam in the mail today and it stated that I had 72 hours to claim this vacation (I was sent a small rectangular yellow with red binding 4 page (front and back) booklet. I should have realized it was a scam because it was sent the 13th of Febuary and I hadn't checked my mail until today (the 22nd) and 'miraculously' my claim was still valid (even though it had to have been at least a week and a half). I was on the phone for nearly an hourand they succeeded into luring me in. My partner and I had been looking for a vacation and found this to be the best deal we had ever seen. Duh. I told the guy I didn't have a credit card. They asked if I had a debit card. I said yes but it doesn't have that much money on it. They asked if I had half for a deposit. These numbers are probably going to be familiar to anyone who called. Half of 698.00. I said I didn't think so and they had the gaul to ask me how much money was on my debit card. I decided to lie and say "a dollar and ninety-nine cents.

What I was attempting to do was decide if it was a scam or not and I knew that if it wasn't that there should be alternate methods of paying. I was then informed "well I'm going to try to do something special for you, please hold". I was on hold for about 2 minutes and a woman came on the phone saying she could do a payment plan. I thought to myself, if they can take a payment plan and a payment isn't due immediately, i could research the deal and get out of it. I asked her for a moment to discuss it with my partner. That, right now is what I am happiest about. I got to put them %#$^@s on hold LOL.
I discussed it with my partner and he said go for it and pray (lol).

I came back on the phone and I was no longer with the woman but the original guy I was talking to and I eventually agreed to a 65.50 a month payment plan and the first payment wouldn't be taken out for 30 days (I now realize why). I was then transferred to the verification department who (of course) recorded the call (naturally they told me it was for MY protection, naturally it was for theirs). After giving the woman my card number and information she of course threw in all sorts of different bonuses and eventually got off the phone.

Immediately after getting off the phone I started doing the research (although I may have been scammed, im still not stupid) and found this website. Thank God for this website. Me and my partner are on fixed incomes and getting crap for our money is not something we enjoy. So I fumbled through the website a bit and found out that I can in fact cancel this YAY.

I called them back and they told me to call the customer service department. Of course since I agreed to the scam late the department was closed. I called back and demanded to cancel immediately and I was hung up on. I call back and told the guy that the customer service place is closed and I want to cancel immediately, he referred me to the customer service department again and I told him No, its closed and I want to cancel immediately. He said he doesn't do cancellations and that it is the customer services department. I asked to switch to the verification department and he said he doesn't know how to transfer calls (Ha!) I then told him that I used to be a phone operator and instructed him how to transfer calls and told him to tranfer me to the verification department.

I was put on hold for 15 minutes then I heard the phone answer, some mumbling voices in the background and was hung up on again. I called back and actually spoke to a very nice individual named Rob (sorry, I have to give him credit, he really was nice). He also informed me that I could not cancel. (Watch me I thought) He said he can't tranfer me to the verification and I asked him if he had a boss or supervisor on duty he said yes and I asked to be tranferred to him, he told me he can't do that, and I asked if the supervisor can be put on his phone and he told me that he can't do that because he's not allowed to have the phone tied up (isn't that hilarious), I then kinda got rude and told him it was already past 11 oclock which is when it said they close and that the phone would obviously not be tied up because no more calls could be received. He told me he actually receives calls until 11:30. So I hung up on them (another thing I'm happy about LOL).

So here I am now typing this complaint out to any and all who will read it. Don't do it. I repeat DON'T DO IT. I realize after reading all these complaints that they don't really get rude and mean until after you realize its a scam and try to cancel/get a refund/complain. So, I'm actually rather excited about calling and cancelling tomorrow for I can be as rude as they come. Luckily for me however no money has been spent on this and I was taped asking the lady if this can be cancelled and she said yes. So I will Revise this and let all who read this know the outcome. I can go ahead and tell you that I will not be charged for any of this come hell or high water.
