Ramada Stay and Imperial Majesty Cruise Rip Off - Beware, these are professional scam artists! Ft. Lauderdale

Got excited when received "Free Cruise" and travel voucher for $1,300.00 in the mail. Called it in and got agreed to $798 package. Didn't really want to buy at first, but when they threw in extra complementary meals, choice of ticket to Disney or Universal Studios parks, 3 additional 3-day vacations, $1,000 shopping spree and another 18 months extension to use all the goodies I caved-in.

The first red flag went up when the salesguy passed me off to "verification" guy that started reading a script and none of my complemented goodies were included. I had to stop him multiple times and he just kept going bla bla bla, at the end I was told that everything will be in my package.

The second flag went up when a few days later I called in and asked to add another person to the plan and they wanted me to buy another package due to some law... I offered to buy the package, but they couldn't charge the whole thing and just wanted to charge a few hundred bucks, with a promise that another salesperson will call me "within 72 hours" and get the rest of the money over the phone. I insisted on paying the whole thing and they declined my request saying it was their policy to get partial payments. I thought this was weird as I never heard of a company that declined to take a full payment on the spot while having you on the phone - ever. Did you ever hear of such company policy? Needless to say that that guy never called to get the rest of the money - and he didn't need to as they just made more charges on my credit card without any further notification or authorization from me.

The third flag went up when I received my package by mail from Imperial Majesty Cruise Line Vacations and it had all the standard offerings in it, but nothing that was promissed to me as extras - no extra meals, no Disney ticket offer (just Universal Studios), no 18 month extention.

Additionally, the actual boat and the hotel looked very shady on their promotional DVD video they included in the package.

Thus, I decided to cancel - boy, was I in for a surprise. I called and spoke to one girl and she said hold on... 10 minutes later another girl, I asked to cancel and got immediate "hold on"... 15 minutes later a guy picks up - thank you for calling... Bla... Bla. Bla. I told him about my cancellation request - got a standard "hold on"... 10 minutes later I GET THE SAME GUY again and he acts like he picked up the phone the first time. So we go through the same thing again and all of the sudden I realized that I am on hold again... 20 minutes later another guy picks up and actually explains to me that I need to speak to reservations and forwards the call to reservations.

Reservations answers right the way but a girl that answered sounded like she was taking a good nap and I caused her to wake up and so she was pissed about it. It almost sounded like "what YOU want?" I told her that I was calling to cancel and they haven't been honest with me and I wanted an immediate refund. She said since I already went through verification I can't get any refund. She did say she will cancel the reservation (which I didn't even ask them to do) but will not refund my money. When I said that I will write a letter to the presedent of the compay - she got nasty and told me "you do whachever you got to do..." (literally).

In total shock I googled this company and found this website - at least I know that I am not crazy and this is a shady company afterall.

I immediatelly called my bank and cancelled the charges. My bank was actually very conforting and told me not to worry as they blocked the card and will assist me in disputing the charges. My bank assured me that if these guys misled me for anything - they will not get a dime of my money as the bank will simply not pay them.

Do not do business with this company as this is a shady high-pressure sales operation of modern time.

To all other people that got cheated: contact your credit card company and cancel charges if possible. Contact your state's attorney general and raise an issue of mass fraud to the citizens of your state. From what I understand, this company is already banned from doing business with 3 states, let's make sure that are banned from ALL states in the US. Also, make sure to write a letter to the attorney general fo Florida state and let him know how you feel.

To all former RPR employees: Thank you for shining some light into this company's internal unethical and flat out unhuman practices. It's a good thing that you find it within you to share this with us - we appreciate it.

To all current RPR employees who defend RPR: You should be ashamed to wake up every day and go slave for this company. It' s obvious that this is not a company that cares about you, but only cares for their own pocket. While other companies care about their customers first, this company obviously doesn't give a damn about a thing, not their customer, not their employees - aha, you know I am right. Being in your shoes and reading this right now, I would seriously consider looking for another company that doesn't involve scamming people as part of their business model. - Hey whatever, we are not even interested in your silly excuses, explanations and statements of why you don't see this operation as a scam - you are in denial.
