Charged for 2 flights that were not booked

I attempted to purchase a ticket for my sister as a favor. I tried 2 times to no avail. I assumed it was because my card had recently been compromised (until the new one came, I could still use my old one in some cases).

At any rate, I got the same message saying there was a problem with my card, and I just took that to mean that there was no purchase. Especially since I never received any confirmation by email.

A few days later, I discover that there are two charges on my card for the "purchase of the tickets." I try to contact them for a refund. Mind you, I do understand their "no refund policy on purchases." But this in no way shape or form can be considered a purchase. I never receive anything. Also, the attempts were for the same person for the same flight.

I emailed them only to get canned responses that did not even address my issue.

Here is a copy of the email exchange. Who ever responded from Skybus dodged my most important concern:

However, you can look up your reservation using the 'need help?' option, located on the "View / Change Reservation" tab located in the lower-left corner of the Home Page. Click on that link and then enter the credit card number used to purchase the Trip, along with the last name of any passenger on the reservation. We have re-sent your confirmation email to the email address you provided when you booked your Trip (s).

Thank you for responding, however I don't feel that you have addressed my issue. The specific flight information is listed above. I was charged for two tickets for which no confirmation has been received. On October 16, I made two attempts to purchase one ticket on my visa checkcard and received an error message both times that it couldn't be processed, at which point I stopped trying because I surmised that the charge was not going through because my information had been compromised as a result of a security breach.

There was never any communication received after this. I only discovered the charges when going over recent transactions with a respresentative of my credit union. Any correspondence would have been sent to mfoa*@aol.com.

Please don't get this confused with a transaction that was successfully completed on October 17 by my sister, Mo* who I was originally trying to make the purchase for.

Furthermore, you've instructed me to "search yourself, using the need help?' option, located on the "View / Change Reservation" tab located in the lower-left corner of the Home Page." When I click the tab, it asks me for a last name and a confirmation code. Therein lies the problem. There is no confirmation code because your site told me there was an error trying to process this transaction (TWICE) and there was never any confirmation received via email.

I am requesting a full refund for two tickets that have NOT been booked, even according to you.

We have searched for your reservation with the information provided and have not located a booking. You can search yourself, using the need help?' option, located on the "View / Change Reservation" tab located in the lower-left corner of the Home Page. Click on that link and then enter the credit card number used to purchase the Trip along with the last name of any passenger on the reservation. This will display any bookings that have been made with that card.

Further, if you find that your trip is not confirmed, please go back to www.skybus.com to book your trip.

Hi,

I was TRYING to purchase a ONE ticket on 10/16/07 for my sister, Mo*. I tried to make the purchase using a debit card that I have been recently notified by my credit union of a security breach.

When I tried it, it did not go through citing some type of error, as I have my information memorized, I simply tried it again making sure this time everything was correct. The same thing happened, it did not go through, citing the same error.

I told my sister, who was on the phone with me as I was doing this, that it wasn't going through and that it was probably related to the security breach and that she would just have to try it on the day that she said that she would pay me back which was 10/17/07.

She was able to make that purchase without incident on yesterday. Now there are three (3) tickets to Columbus, OH from Greensboro, NC when only one is needed. Three tickets for the same person on the same flight on the same day... I'm certain I'm not the only person to see the error here.

Also, I checked the email account that I tried to purchase under and there were never any confirmation emails received. Please refund the two tickets for Monica Foskey purchased on the VISA card number *8625.

Also, I can not remember specific info and my sister is not available right now. I remember the flight was near the end of March or May. Please contact me if additional info is need.

I'm not sure what, if anything, I can do about this. Apparently, their email responses are automated, because no human in their right mind would respond to my emails as such.

Have you have any success getting a refund with Skybus??
