We traveled to New Cumberland for our son's wedding reception. My husband's sister was staying in this Comfort Inn so we decided to stay there also. We went in at 10:00am and they let us check in for 2 rooms. My daughter was arriving that night.
We didn't go to the rooms or take anything in. We all left to go to the Hershey Chocolate Factory and got back at 4:00. We took all our luggage up to the room and as soon as I walked in I knew I didn't want to stay there.
The room was dirty looking and smelled bad. The floors were all scratched up and looked dirty. There was mold around the bathtub. I told my husband that I was not staying there. So we took all our luggage down and told them that we didn't want the room. The lady said okay and she canceled our reservations. I said, " you are sure that I won't be charged for this?" and she said no we wouldn't.
When I got my credit statement, we had been charged for both rooms. I called and the manager said he didn't know that we might have used the rooms and I said that we hadn't even been in there except to look at it and decide we didn't want to stay. He got mad and hung up on me. I called my bank and they filed an ACH. But since I signed for the rooms, I probably won't get my money back.
They are very unfair and unprofessional. I only wish there was something else I could do because he shouldn't get away with ripping people off like that!
