Changed Redemption Policy to Erode Points Earned

I am a member of 2 Citi Credit Cards that accumulate points for the ThankYou Network. The agreement when I signed up for the cards was that I could use the points stored for flights on the following basis:

25000 Points = Domestic Flight
No Blackout Dates
Any Airline of Your Choice
From any city to any destination
Limited to the cheapest flight available for the date selected (They decide Times of Flight)

I have redeemed a flight in the past with no problem. It is a great deal for me since I live 2.5 hours from a major airport and most tickets from my home city are in the $700 plus range.

After saving up enough points to redeem again I was informed that the ThankYouNetwork has changed their redemption policy to the following terms:

20000 Points = Domestic Flight under $400 in value
Any flight over $400 will be charged 5000 points per $50 increment

This essentially eroded all the points that I have saved up over the year. The same flight that used to only use 25000 points will now cost me well over 50000 points!

This policy was changed without my notification or an option to opt out and maintain the previous agreement in place. ThankYouNetwork was apologetic, but unwilling to make any sort of accommodation and now I'm left with points that give me half the purchasing power that they used to!
