Rented a compact car on weekend of 6/23/07 to 06/25/07. Regular car had mechanical problem, and was in the shop.
Rental car had badly desined gear shift, wouldn't shift back into reverse or park without considerable effort, with the sense that shifting stick would break off every time. Notified rental agency of this problem, with no resolution to problem.
Rental car accelated roughly, throwing passengers back into seats at unexpected times. No resolution to this as well.
Also, on day of expected return of car to rental agency, I had some confusing info from the repair shop as to when my personal vehicle would be available. I notified the rental agency of this. As a result, I was late in returning the rental to the agency. It ended up being on the same day, just later in the afternoon. Agency insisted on charging me a full extra day, at regular rates (double that of the weekend rates).
I returned to the rental agency the following day to talk to the owner, to try to get the exta charge reversed, with no results.
Very unhappy with experience. Would not recommend this service to anyone. Bad business practice. They insisted on taking $44.00 dollars from my family, with the full knowledge that I would never use their service again.
