I booked an anniversary tour with a pre-cruise land package and air all purchased through Celebrity Cruise lines on Sep. 29 of 2006. What happened to us another couple was a nightmare - We had our baggage lost for 7 days - we were stuck in a foriegn country -Italy with no help from a tour director who could have retrieved our luggage in Florence but refused to do so and proceeded to tell the airline to send the luggage to Rome where our land package itienary was not done -thrown into a lousy hotel and made to stand in line for the Vatican tourfor over three hours and then we were told that the luggage was sitting in Rome airport and I should pay the tour Director 250 euros to her for her assistance in picking up the luggage - all of which was a lie.
We proceeded to the ship and boarded the ship and went straight to the Front Office Manager Flavio Gioia who assured me that celebrity Cruises will compensates us for our problem when I call them in Maimi. I just called Celebrity and spoke to a person called Gloria who absolutely denied any compensation even though I was not looking for cash but a future tour credit for the land based portion of my tour which amounted to $2800. We were treated for the first few days on our cruise like crew because all we had were the T-Shirts provide by the cruise line. Such behaviour on part of the of Royal carribean who is the owner of Celebrity is unpardonable and reprhensible - I am a medically disabled person who instead enjoying his anniversary was put in such a severe state of mental distress that I wanted to kill myself - fortunately my wife took care of my failing health situation caused by all this and brought me back to sanity however the anguish and the embarrasment was more than I bear. If anyone is travelling on celebrity cruise line do that at your peril. I wish that an attorney is there to pursue this matter because i am entitled to legal aid under my present health condition or someone who like to take celebrity and Royal carribean on and sue the pants of them. I wish some attorney would contact me regarding this matter-there is also another couple from Boston involved in this and can provide confirmation as to what we endured.
