Still waiting for credit after 3rd attempt San Antonio Texas

We went through Lastminute Travel (aka Travelocity) and bought airfare, hotel, and auto as a vacation package. When we arrived at our destination and picked up the rental car, changes were made to the car rental agreement, so a new contract was necessary. Therefore, Alamo charged my card the total price of renting the car. There in-lies the problem. I was being charged twice for the car. Alamo said just contact Lastminute Travel when we get back in the States for a credit.

After we arrived home I called Lastminute Travel on 12/18/06 and explained the circumstances and requested a $343.75 credit to my credit card for the car. They told me it would take 7 to 14 business days to obtain the credit. I hung up with the expectation that I would soon obtain that credit. What a joke!

After more than 14 business days (on 01/11/07) I called to check and see why I had not obtained the credit, they told me that there was a mistake on their part. They were going to re-issue the credit again. I was again going to have to wait another 7 to 14 business days for the credit to go through. They said it would take that long because Visa took that long. What a lie!

I called Visa and they said that once Lastminute Travel issues the credit it usually takes just a few hours for them to credit my account, or at the most 1 to 2 days.

After about 16 business days Still No Credit! So I again called Lastminute Travel today (02/03/07) to see where my credit was. Again I was told there was a mistake in processing the credit. I expressed my DISMAY as to why they can't get it right with the credit when they had no problem charging my account for the trip. He assured me that in 7 to 14 more business days I would obtain (that long overdue) credit.

The gentleman I spoke with gave me an e-mail address to express my DISMAY. Well low and behold that turned out to be bogus also, unless I just misunderstood his foreign accent.

I have nothing against Lastminute Travel, but they should hire employees who can correctly handle issuing credits as well as charges. I sure would like my credit some day soon.
