Market Street Manor Motel
Extremely poor customer service, smelly and cockroach ridden room ripoff

I paid for a week stay at this hotel at the start of October. At that time I was looking for a place to live, but needed temporary housing. The rate was reasonable so I got a room here.

I stayed only one night here (although I paid for 7) because the customer service was horrible and the place has cockroaches!

Here is my complaint:
1. On my first day arrival, the manager, Mr. Hunsaker, called me on the phone. He YELLED at me for having my windows open. I told him I had already told him that the smell of PineSol was so overwhelming that I would have to open the windows. He then called me "selfish" and YELLED at me some more and then hung up on me. This is hour 1.

2. I saw Mr. Hunsaker outside the window about a half hour later. I went outside and asked him if he was the one who called me. He started his YELLING again. He has an uncontrolable temper and very poor social manners.

3. That night I received some phone calls from prospective roommates. When they finally got through to my room, I was told by them that Mr. Hunsaker was very rude to them not only in tone of voice but would not help my prospective roommates get through to my room to leave a message. These are people with whom I am trying to build a relationship to gain housing. Thankfully his poor customer service and social manners didn't scare them off.

4. The next day I woke up to cockroaches and lines of cockroach poo on my counters. They were in my bathroom and on the counters near the closet area. Really gross!

5. I went downstairs to check-out after night one. So, I only stayed one night at the Motel becuase the service was horrible and there were cockroaches. The front desk informed me that there would be no refund per motel rules. I asked for contact information about the owners and the front desk person refused to give out the information. I called Mr. Hunsaker both then, and today (12-4-06) and he still refuses to give me the information for the owners so I can talk with the directly regarding my concerns.

I paid 192.50 to stay in this motel. I only stayed one night and was very dissatisfied with the service and conditions so I left. I want my money back minus the 1 nights stay.

This is a HORRIBLE Motel with a very poor Manager named Mr. Darrell Hunsaker.
