Complaint / Review
Copeland Marketing Corporation
Ripoff Daytona Beach Florida

I admit that Copeland came close to successfully scamming me. I did not conclusively rule them out until I just read numerous usacomplaints.com about them. I intially spoke with Jessica Butler. I had several extensive pleasant conversations with her. I had warned her of my past experiences of numerous companies that unsuccessfully tried to scam me with their so called abilities to resell timeshares. Jessica seemed so genuine. Her catch phrase was quite redundant. It was something like this, but not word for word." If you just give me an ounce of trust, you will be very happy with the results".

I procrastinated for quite a while. I actually planned on calling Copeland and posing as someone interested in buying or renting a timeshare. My main focus was to see what the prices were going for because I didn't believe what Jessica claimed she could get for my condo. I never actually followed through on this. Jessica did tell me, however, that she had just concluded a very successfull couple of weeks and that she had sold her whole inventory of timeshares except one. She stated she had sold 8 or 9 of them. I asked her where her incentive was to sell my timeshare once Copeland received my $895 up-front money. She stated that she got none of that money and her only income was derived by selling the specific units that she got by people listing their units with her.

Well, eventually I called Copeland back and was told by someone by the name of Alex (I forgot his last name) that Jessica had been promoted and he would now handle my case. I was more interested in renting my unit because I have several weeks and he and Jessica both said that they could get over $2,000 a week for my unit, and he too said I just needed to give him a liitle trust and he would produce results. Well, just the other day, another Timeshare resale company called me. The woman actually initially asked for Jessica Butler. I figured it was someone from Copeland who just misread a file and asked for Jessica instead of me, just as a result of confusing her name with mine. It turns out that this woman was with another company and I can't even remember how she said she got my phone number. It was this saleslady that informed me of the present cloud of scrutiny that Copeland is under. I had done my homework initially and was aware that Copeland had an unsatisfactory rating with The BBB. Jessica quickly dismissed this as a few disgruntled customers.

This much I know. No matter how much a corporation thinks they have been libeled or slandered, it appears so immature and unprofessional to call people lunatics, idiots, or losers. Also Andrea, you have lost what ounce of credibility that you may have had by making numerous basic spelling errors. People like you are the lowest form of bottomfeeding pond scum alive. I have more respect for an armed robber. At least when a gunman is robbing you, you know it's happening. You hide behind employees, some of whom are probably being duped just like your unsuspecting customers. I can only hope that you eventually get what you have coming to you.
