In January - I was contacted by Jessica Lamee of Copeland Marketing. She said she would personally handle the sale of my Weston, FL timeshare, and that she had a vested interest in the sale of my property because of the commission she would be paid.
I agreed to paying them $399 upfront marketing costs (brought down from $699) and they would refund the money upon sale of the property.
Unfortunately within an hour of that conversation I had been suckered into giving them my checking account information and the transaction was completed.
It is now going on August and I have never heard back from them. I felt suspect about the way things went down so I googled them and came across this website. I am so upset to see that not only was I bamboozled by Copeland but many other unsuspecting victims.
After reading the many consumer complaintss I called Copeland and asked to speak to Jessica and I was told that she was just the listing agent, she would not be handling the actual sales, or promotion of my timeshare.
What can I do? I did read that James of Hillsborough, NJ was able to get some money back. I would love to know exactly how he went about it.
I am angry that I am out of $300 and still have not been able to sell my timeshare. Are there any legitimate timeshare resale places that can help?
