My wife and I visited Acupulco last March.
On arriving we were immediately acosted by an individual who said he would give us many special gifts if we would attend a 90 minute presentation at the Grand Mayan Resort. We said O.K. And the next morning were picked up at our hotel and driven to the reort.
After meeting Bridgett for breakfast we were given a presentation followed by us being joined by the next high pressure salesmen. We somehow managed to say no and were leaving when yet another salesmen Luis Ruiz got us to talk to him about a Great Vacations Club package.
We were troubled by the language in the contract "subject to availability" but fell for Luis promises that availability was never a problem. So we signed up.
When we got home and tried to book a trip everything we tried to book was "subject to availability" FULL / UNAVAIABLE. My wife made many calls to the Grand Mayan with further promises over the phone that they would intercede and get us a trip. The final conversation with the manager was they couldn't help us.
Travelers to mexico beware. Do not fall prey to the grand mayan scam.
