Horizon Travel
Ripoff complete scam

My boyfriend was contacted by Shaundra, stating that he had won a Cadillac Escalade and all he had to do was get the confirmation number and go to a specific location the next day to claim his prize.

We were both very skeptical but figured, hey what are we going to lose. She then asked my boyfriend if he was between the ages of 30-45 and makes over $45,000 per year. She said that he had checked that box off on the sweepstakes entry probably because he thought he was never going to win.

Since neither of us fit the age requirements she said she could make an acception and just to have us find somebody over 30 and she could switch the entry forms. She then proceeded to tell us that whoever we have go down could transfer the prize to him, no problem.

I asked her what they were selling and she said absolutley nothing. So he asked his mother to go and I went with her.

They let us both in the room. For 90 minutes a man was discussing the benefits of their travel program and for 7995, I too could have these wonderful benefits.

Once we told them that we were not interested because we were in no way prepared to spend money, they got really rude and gave us a scratch off ticket which ended up to be a 3 day vacation.

Before we left his mother asked the Horizon representative if she would be able to transfer it to her son's name and they said no problem. They said to call the number on the certificate and they would transfer the names.

She tried calling the number for two weeks, only getting a message that the voicemail box was full. Finally she was able to leave a voicemail. She then today got a phone call from VIP stating that she is not allowed to transfer the certificate. They said that whoever told her she could wasn't correct and that it states on the back of the certificate that there is to be no name changes.

His mother saw this once she got the certificate and inquried with the Horizon rep, and they told her not to worry about it. VIP travel gave her a number for Horizon Corporate 1-877-762-4374, which when she called she was told that only one person in the whole company handles that and she sent her to voicemail.

She has now left a message. This whole thing is a ripoff and I feel bad for the people who actually purchased the service.
