In what has to be both illegal and just plain BAD busisness I just was informed that CARNIVAL has a 'term and condition' on their contract that allows them-at the last minute-to not only require a passenger to stay an extra night at their destination but requires that passenger to pay for the inconvienience. I had booked and paid for a Mediteranean cruise months before departure-yet less than 3 weeks before I was due to leave I get a call informing me that Carnival was 'invoking' their forced overnight and I would have to spend an extra night in room and pay $376 for a hotel room.
I immediately told my travel agent this was BS (she agreed) and at the last minute I had to cancel. Needless to say I'm fighting with Carnival since they have the b*s to say that since I cancelled at the last minute I'm not entitled to a full refund. The fact that they waited until the last possible moment to inform me apparently means nothing to them.
Like others who have complained to Mr. Dickenson, I have written certified letters and never gotten a responce. Yes I have had previous good experiences but a word to the wise. Check out carnivals 'forced overnight policy' and g-d help you if you have a problem and have to rely on mr dickenson
