On the night of Thursday, January 19 my fiance and I drove to Fort Worth from Oklahoma City. Because of a rodeo event all of the hotels in the area were booked except for the Days Inn located at 1551 South University Drive in Fort Worth, Texas. We were told upon check-in that they had just received a cancellation of a block of rooms.
We requested a king, non-smoking room and were given room 215. Before going to our room we went to Chili's to get something to eat. After eating we went to our assigned room and discovered we were given a king smoking room (there was an ashtray in the room and the room reeked of cigarette smoke). Jay went to the office and asked for another room and was told that all of the rooms were now sold out.
Within about 15-20 minutes of being in this room I experienced an asthma attack, became very ill, and was unable to stay in the room. We gathered our belongings and went back to the office to check out and request a refund. The night clerk, David, was very rude and refused to give us a refund. We asked for the manager's name and David told us Tina was the manager.
I called the hotel on Saturday, January 21 and spoke to Tina. Tina told me that she was not the manager but that Neal was the manager. I gave Tina my name and telephone number and asked her to have Neal return my call.
To date, I have not received a return call from Neal or anyone else at the hotel listed above.
